In order to provide an alternative to test-based assessment, provide an authentic audience, and foster deeper learning, I assist students in creating digital portfolios where they can host their work and reflect on their progress throughout their school careers. We begin by exploring the following digital portfolios created by high school students, middle school students, and elementary school students in order to create success criteria as we do with all related classroom assignments and routines, and they are available here.

My students displayed short URLs and QR codes for their digital portfolios, along with their self-portraits and critique drawings, in the hallway to encourage school visitors to learn more about their work.

Other digital portfolios are viewable through short URLS and QR codes accessible to those who visit High Tech Elementary Chula Vista, and videos contained on all portfolios are viewable only to individuals with @hightechhigh.org accounts.
